What we believe

  • God: we believe in the one holy, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, sovereign, faithful, supreme, merciful, unchanging, patient, loving, just, creator and saviour of believers’ souls.
  • Holy Scriptures: we believe that God Himself is the author of the 66 books that make up the Bible. He inspired around 40 people over 15 centuries in three languages and on three different continents to the writing of this text, through the Holy Spirit.
  • Fall of man: we believe that the man Adam, created in holiness, by his voluntary transgression of God’s law sinned against Him and fell; as a result of this, all men are sinners, having in them the same natural inclination to evil. The fall leads to condemnation and eternal ruin, without defence or justification.
  • Salvation we believe that the salvation of sinners is entirely by grace, through the intercession of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. By dying on the cross, He atoned for the sins of those who believe in Him. Having risen from the dead, He is now seated on the throne of heaven.
  • Justificationwe believe in justification through faith in Jesus Christ alone, without consideration of any work of justice that we have accomplished, for the forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life with God.
  • Repentance and faithwe believe that repentance and faith are generated in our souls by the Holy Spirit, which convicts us of sin and judgement leading to sincere repentance, invocation of God’s mercy and belief in the Lord Jesus as our prophet, priest, king and saviour.
  • Grace of Godwe believe that election is the eternal purpose of God, who, by grace alone, regenerates, sanctifies and saves sinners. In full accordance with man’s free will, we believe that this is the most glorious demonstration of God’s sovereign goodness, which eliminates any form of personal pride and encourages humility, love, prayer, praise and trust in God.
  • Communionwe believe that communion, the breaking of bread and drinking of wine as instructed in the Scriptures, is celebrated by born-again believers. We believe in baptism, by immersion in water in the name of Jesus, as a symbol before men of our testimony, of our death and resurrection with Christ.
  • Earthly authoritieswe believe that every earthly authority is by divine appointment, for the interest and good order of human society. We believe in prayer for the authorities to which we submit, except for things contrary to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience and Prince of the kings of Earth.
  • Future lifewe believe that the end of the world is ever closer and that Christ will come down from heaven and raise the dead from the grave for the final judgement: the wicked who did not believe in Christ to receive definitive eternal punishment, the righteous who did have faith in the Son of God to receive infinite eternal joy. This is the sentence that will define forever man’s final status: in hell or in heaven.
